Politics is said to be the last resort of scoundrels. This anecdote assumes significance when elections approach to the hilt. Feared by their sagging prospects at the hustings overnight politicians are changing hats and subsequently throwing them in the poll ring for the sake of ticket to contest. The obsession to get the ticket at any cost is so profound that the seasonal politicians are throwing towels if denied ticket. And the rot runs across the influential political families as well.

Changing Loyalties before Lok Sabha Election

RJD MP Sadhu Yadav, who has hitherto had a dubious distinction of being tied to the apron strings of mentor Lalu Yadav is a latest case in the point. Peeved by being denied the RJD ticket by Lalu Prasad Yadav, the Sadhu Yadav shifted the camp to Congress. And the Congress, grinning at the predicament of Lalu Yadav, embraced the embattled sala with a bear hug. He is not Sadhu alone who raised a banner of revolt following deprivation, RJD MP namely Giridhari Yadav and MLA Ramai Ram too earned notoriety for being opportunists. In Samajwadi Party as well leaders like Salim Iqbal Sherwani, and Ramlal Sahi, jumped on to the Congress bandwagon thus dumping the Samajwadi Party. The reason was, duo were lobbying for Badayun seat in U.P but neither of them could get the party ticket to contest.

If these episodes are not music to ears then here is the one for you. Captain Jai Narayan Nishad of RJD left his colleagues far behind when it came to shifting loyalties. Nishad changed three political parties overnight before settling with JD(U) for Muzaffarpur seat in Bihar. Firstly, when RJD denied him ticket Nishad knocked on the doors of Congress. However, Congress gave the neta a cold shoulder. Unfazed by the snub Nishad turned a prodigal son and returned to the RJD flock. But Lalu shown him the door. Nishad’s determination, read avarice, for ticket landed him in the JD (U) camp.

Leaders of Samajwadi Party seem to lead the flock of politicos cum chameleons. In Uttar Pradesh leaders namely Mukhtar Ansari, Shahid Siddiqui,Kunwar Devendra Singh Yadav and Shakeel-ur-Rehman Berq are a few cases in point that have dumped SP for BSP.With the date of filing nominations coming closer the netas have engaged into hectic activities either to retain their seat or to jump to the rival camp so as to restrain others from entering into the fray.

There are no loyalty standards in politics. So there arises no question of changing the loyalities.Politicians want to grab the power only. Ideologicaly bankrupt polticains can go any where. Particularily the regional parties and their leaders have nothing to do with ideology. Ram Vilas Paswan is enjoying the power from last ten years. DMK enjoyed the power both in NDA and UPA . Leaders just want royalty.

I am entirely agree with u Mr Sachin. Particularily the regional parties and their leaders have nothing to do with ideology. They can do anything for the sake of power. The regional parties have also become a weak point for their national counterparts. And these parties know where to hit so the pain is felt

You are right Mr. Gibson, these nincompoop leaders have no vision of India.. Can these leaders tell the nation how they are going to steer the country out of this economic crisis? How will they give future generations the direction they deserve?

You are right Mr. Gibson but whom should we trust.Anger against politicians is justified but we can’t run the country without politics. We can’t support dictatorship. So what’s the solution?
